Effective as of 2 October 2026
These terms and conditions apply to the Mebbo app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by André Crous (collectively, the "Application"). André Crous is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".
By downloading or using the Application, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. You should read them carefully before using the Application.
Mebbo is a study aid for the Swedish citizenship civics test (medborgarskapsprovet). Mebbo is an independent product built by the Service Provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to UHR (Universitets- och högskolerådet), Skolverket, Migrationsverket, or any Swedish government authority. Mebbo's lesson texts, practice questions, and practice exams are written by Mebbo, based on the topics in UHR's Sverige i fokus, and are not official material. Results on a practice exam in the Application are not a guarantee or prediction of the outcome of the real test.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Service Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Application on a mobile device for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application, except as and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.
The Service Provider retains all intellectual property rights in the Application, including its code, design, trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, and branding (the "IP"). Nothing in these Terms grants you any license or right to use the Service Provider's trademarks, logos, or branding for any purpose. You agree not to remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices displayed in or on the Application.
Unauthorized copying or modification of the Application, any part of the Application, or the Service Provider's trademarks is strictly prohibited. Attempts to extract the source code of the Application, translate it into other languages, or create derivative versions are not permitted. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider.
Mebbo does not include any feature that allows users to post, share, upload, or otherwise publish content visible to other users or to the public. There are no user profiles, chat, comments, or shared leaderboards containing user-submitted content. Accordingly, no content-moderation, notice-and-takedown, or user-content licensing provisions apply to your use of the Application at this time.
If the Service Provider introduces such features in the future, this section will be updated accordingly, and the updated Terms will be posted here with a new effective date before those features become available.
By accessing and using this Application, you represent that you are legally permitted to use it in your jurisdiction. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Application. The Application is made for people preparing for the Swedish citizenship test, which applies from age 16. This is the Service Provider's own age limit for the Application; it is not the age of digital consent, which in Sweden is 13 (lag (2018:218) med kompletterande bestämmelser till EU:s dataskyddsförordning, 2 kap. 4 §).
All chapter lesson content in the Application is free and is never placed behind a paywall. The Application offers optional in-app purchases that unlock unlimited daily practice, harder question levels, unlimited practice exams, a mode with situation questions from every chapter (Utmaningsläge), and a detailed view of the facts you miss most, with practice on exactly those. You are never required to make a purchase to read or study any lesson content.
In-app purchases are one-time, non-recurring purchases; the Application does not use auto-renewing subscriptions. Each purchase unlocks the associated features for a stated period, or permanently in the case of the lifetime purchase. Current pricing and the length of each purchase are shown in the Application before you complete a purchase, and any charges will be clearly disclosed at that time.
In-app purchases are processed through RevenueCat, a third-party purchase-management service, in conjunction with the app store platform (Google Play) through which you downloaded the Application. Your use of this feature is also subject to the applicable terms of that third-party provider and to the Application's Privacy Policy. Charges for in-app purchases are processed by the app store platform, not directly by the Service Provider.
Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policies. The Service Provider may withdraw access obtained through a purchase that is refunded, reversed or charged back.
The Application relies on the following third-party services in order to function:
Please be aware that the Service Provider does not assume responsibility for the availability, performance, or data practices of these third-party services beyond what is described in the Privacy Policy.
The Application is designed to work fully offline for lesson content and practice once installed. Making or restoring an in-app purchase requires an active internet connection, which can be Wi-Fi or provided by your mobile network provider. The Service Provider cannot be held responsible if the Application does not function at full capacity due to lack of access to Wi-Fi or if you have exhausted your mobile data allowance.
If you are using the Application outside of a Wi-Fi area, your mobile network provider's agreement terms still apply, and you may incur data charges, including roaming charges if used outside your home territory. By using the Application, you accept responsibility for any such charges. If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you use the Application, the Service Provider assumes you have obtained permission from the bill payer.
The Service Provider strongly advises against jailbreaking or rooting your mobile device, as this removes software restrictions imposed by the official operating system and could expose your device to malware, compromise its security features, and may result in the Application not functioning correctly.
The Service Provider may update the Application from time to time. You should accept updates when offered; if you decline, the Service Provider may cease to support earlier versions and the Application may not function properly. The Service Provider may also cease providing the Application, or terminate its availability, at any time, with or without notice.
The Service Provider may suspend or terminate your access to the Application if you materially breach these Terms. Where the breach is capable of remedy, the Service Provider will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure it before termination. The Service Provider may suspend or terminate access immediately and without notice if you violate applicable law, infringe intellectual property rights, or attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or exploit the Application (for example, to fraudulently obtain premium access).
Upon termination, your right to use the Application ends and you must delete all copies from your devices.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be lawfully excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss (including loss of local study progress), or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
However, the Service Provider retains full liability for:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of the Service Provider for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid to the Service Provider for the Application (including any in-app purchases) in the 12 months preceding the claim, or the minimum amount that must be paid under applicable law, whichever is greater. Since the base Application, including all lesson content, is provided free of charge, this means the Service Provider's liability for users who have made no in-app purchases is limited to the minimum amount permitted by applicable law.
It is your responsibility to ensure your device remains charged and connected as needed; the Service Provider is not responsible for interruptions caused by your device's battery, connectivity, or hardware.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Provider, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or directly related to your breach of these Terms or your intentional misuse of the Application.
This indemnification does not apply to claims arising from the Service Provider's own negligence, breach of these Terms, or violation of applicable law. In jurisdictions where consumer indemnification is restricted by law, this clause is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service Provider is established, excluding conflict of law rules, except to the extent mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be brought before the courts that have jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in this clause limits any rights you may have to bring a claim in a court that is competent under mandatory law.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms and Conditions, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Service Provider concerning your use of the Application, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
The Service Provider may periodically update these Terms and Conditions. You are advised to review this page regularly for any changes. The Service Provider will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date.
Previous versions of these Terms will be maintained and made available upon request by contacting the Service Provider at mebbo.app@proton.me.
These Terms and Conditions are effective as of 2 October 2026.
If you have any questions or suggestions about these Terms and Conditions, please contact the Service Provider at mebbo.app@proton.me.
